Description

Master the art of getting in and out of the water from shore with confidence and ease. Shore diving is one of the most accessible and affordable ways to dive, but it comes with its own techniques, and this course focuses on handling different surf, entry and shore conditions safely. You’ll learn how to assess a site, time your entries and exits, manage gear and fins in the shallows, navigate to and from your entry point, and deal with waves, surge and changing footing. Many of the world’s great dive sites are reachable straight from the beach with the right skills, so this specialty unlocks a huge amount of independent, spontaneous diving.

The purpose of this course is to acquaint a diver with the necessary procedures and knowledge to safely dive from shore. The focus of this specialty must be on how to handle different types of surf and shore conditions. Many great dive sites are accessible from the shore and do not require the use of a boat but do require some basic techniques and information how to execute the dives safely.
