An easy, guided first-dive experience for anyone curious about scuba. With a professional right beside you, you’ll get comfortable with the basics of your gear, learn how it all works, and then enjoy a calm, supervised descent into the underwater world – no prior experience or certification required. It’s the perfect way to try scuba for the first time and discover whether diving is for you before committing to a full course. Optional free eLearning lets you explore the fundamentals from home before you ever get wet, so you arrive ready to relax and simply enjoy the experience.
Diving is so magical that it’s hard to explain. Like the first time you breathe underwater, when your brain registers it as a unique and unrepeatable moment. Or when you feel the weightlessness: your body feels light, and floating becomes natural, the closest feeling to flying. It all happens as you discover a new world filled with incredible animals, lively reefs, and silent wrecks that tell stories. No, it can never be fully described. You have to live it, guided and calm, so you can simply enjoy the moment. The experience begins here.
Dives included: 1 confined water (pool) session; open water dive is optional (not included)
Prerequisites
- Minimum age 18 years; 10 with parental consent
- Able to be comfortable in water; no swim test required for the experience
- Complete a medical/liability statement — physician approval required if any medical condition applies
- No prior certification required
What You Will Learn
- How scuba equipment works and how to breathe from a regulator
- Basic pressure equalization of ears and mask
- Regulator recovery and clearing
- Mask clearing basics
- Moving comfortably and safely underwater with a buddy/professional
- Basic hand signals and communication
Required Equipment
- Mask, snorkel, and fins (typically provided)
- Exposure suit appropriate to water temperature
- BCD (buoyancy compensator device)
- Regulator with alternate air source and submersible pressure gauge
- Cylinder and weight system (provided by the dive center)
Course Requirements & Standards (SDI)
- Conducted under the direct supervision of an active SDI professional
- Optional open-water dive depth must not exceed 9 metres/30 feet (confined-water/pool session required first)
- One professional to a limited number of participants per SDI ratios
- Not a certification — an experience program
- May credit toward Open Water Scuba Diver training at instructor discretion
