A program that transitions divers from novice to advanced by completing four SDI specialty courses of your choice, giving you the freedom to build a certification around the diving you love most. As you work through your chosen specialties, you’ll deepen your comfort and competence across a wide range of diving environments, from deeper water and wrecks to night dives, navigation, buoyancy and beyond. The result is a diver who is more confident, more capable and better prepared to handle varied conditions safely and independently. Because you select the specialties yourself, no two Advanced Diver paths look quite the same, and the experience you gain sets the stage perfectly for the Rescue Diver course and future leadership roles. It’s the ideal way to keep growing as a diver while tailoring your training to your own interests and goals.

The SDI Advanced Diver certification is designed as a program to transition divers from novice to advanced, enhancing comfort and competence in the water. This course offers a deep dive into four SDI specialty areas, preparing you for more challenging and rewarding diving experiences.

Requirements to complete: Proof of at least 25 logged dives and completion of all 4 selected SDI specialty courses

Prerequisites

• SDI Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent
• Completion of 4 SDI, TDI, or ERDI specialty courses (only 1 specialty without dives may be credited)
• A minimum of 25 logged dives
• Complete a medical statement where relevant

• Rating awarded by an SDI professional upon verification
• Builds directly toward Rescue Diver and Master Scuba Diver

After This Course

Continue toward Accomplished Diver, Rescue Diver, and ultimately the Master Scuba Diver rating.
